Wales - Europe 2015

Hey,

Well, we had a whale of a time in Wales!
Welcome back to my Europe 2015 series, friends! (The full series in order is: Turkey, Italy, Croatia, Londonand England Part one.

We left off in England, so now introducing our Wales adventure! If you don't know, Wales and New Zealand have a crucial thing in common for my father: a shared love of rugby. Dad was able to get in touch with other rugby fanatics and we got a real insight into rugby.

Driving into Wales was really interesting for us, as they had the road signs in welsh and in english, lots of terrible pronunciation was going on in our car I'll tell you that! our first experience was in Cardiff, a few days before the All Blacks game there.

We were lucky enough to get a behind the scenes tour of Millennium Stadium!

The man who showed us around was really nice, and I know how much it meant to Dad. I enjoyed just looking around, and having a giggle at my father and grandfather pretending to be interviewed in the media room. Millennium is a cool place, and everyone was so welcoming and all had smiles on their faces.

The next day as you can see I may have had a mental health day... Sometimes when I look back I feel sad because my sensitivity and general me'ness means I miss out on some cool things. I wish I could be the girl who does things every day and steps out of her comfort zone all the time, but the truth is I'm not!

After that we went to Neath, where our hotel was. Neath is such a cool little town! Dad helped a guy out on writing a rugby historical book and the guy was so generous to our little family, he paid for our hotel and he and his lovely wife cooked us the most awesome four course meal and just looked after us so well. We felt so comfortable and at home there.

I have realized I have a big love for the welsh accent, it's just a really lovely accent!! i could see myself living in Wales to be honest. It was such a relaxing great place.

This time picture I put in because yikes! Social Anxiety was not liking me that night! I think this was during the mental health day, the others were off to watch Wales vs Fiji and I had to order dinner for myself. Dun dun dun. I hate talking on the phone if I don't know who, so it took me a long time to even pluck up the courage to pick up the phone!

Oh the joys of social anxiety.

Next!
We arrived back in Cardiff to watch New Zealand vs Georgia! If you don't know, I'm from New Zealand and my name is Georgia, so I enjoyed that match!

You don't know how much fun I had zooming in with my Nikon Coolpix P900 on the media people's faces! We were up super high for this game so I relished the zoom!
 Mexican wave in action!

Getting back to Neath was a struggle we didn't think would happen.. we were so wrong! Our train was delayed an hour. The overhead speakers kept saying over and over that the trains coming weren't for the public use. It was midnight by the time the train arrived and here's a moon pic I took while waiting for proof!

We spent the day after exploring the town of Neath, and Mum and I found a nail salon! Look at these puppies!

Aaand then we boarded the ferry to Ireland! So it was such a brief trip to Wales, I'm definitely going back and seeing the actual country. I didn't take many pictures of the town nor out and about here, but it was cool, guys!

I'm just using it as an incentive to come back soon.

BONUS!

Geek alert, I think I died at this experience. Soo coool.
Whilst in Cardiff, Mum surprised my brother and I with the Doctor Who Experience! We did the interactive one where you go into the tv show, literally. I wasn't joking about dying, there were Weeping Angels, guys!

No camera were allowed for that part but once into the exhibition you can take heaps. So that just means you reading this need to go to Cardiff and see for yourself!

 OOD!
 The face of Boe

I love the difference between the Tardis!

That's Wales for ya! Check back soon for Ireland ! xx

Love,
Georgia Maree xx
