Sunscreen Sensitive Skin Struggle

Hey.

That was a mouthful of a title! But yes, summer has arrived in New Zealand, and summer means sun and sun means burning hot sunburn.
So, I decided there was no way I was going to experience any of that sunburn, I slipped slopped slapped and wrapped, yet my skin suddenly felt like it was on fire.

I worryingly sat in a camp chair on the beach while my family swam, and enjoyed themselves. I actually thought a jellyfish had stung my face! It wasn't a jellyfish or sunburn.. I had an allergic reaction.

This leads us back to my title of this post, sunscreen. The stuff that was supposed to be saving and protecting my skin was causing my skin to freak out. So which sunscreen can I use and which stuff makes me want to cry?

Banana Boat sunscreen. Banana boat? More like Banana nope. We'd never bought the stuff before but I just sprayed it on casually without much thought, on the back of the bottle it says 'don't spray directly onto face'.... whoops. It genuinely felt so disgusting on, and I had to put a cooling peppermint gel band across my face to chill the reaction.

Nivea Caring Sun Spray. This sun spray did not care for me! Literally it made me feel like I had itchy bites all over my body. The weirdest thing is, I've been using this stuff for years! Nivea, why! Please ignore what I said about this in my summer beauty essentials, I was so naive. :-(

Sunsense Sport Cream. Yesss! We have used this sunscreen all through my childhood, and I never used anything else. It says for the sports enthusiast on the tube, but I think us non sporty very non enthusiasts can use it too.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen. I think I like it, I've only used it once so far, but it feels really nice on my skin. Definitely lightweight, and I just enjoy the packaging of it too! Also it smells a little like roses, a major plus.

Active Sunscreen. I have mentioned this in my Earth174 Review, I do adore this stuff!! It feels like moisturizer, and also doesn't smell like sunscreen. I love you Active sunscreen! Only minuses are it has stained a few of my white tops, and it can look a little greasy at first.
And I've run out of it!
