Hey,
I think being now on my last years of high school, I have a pretty good idea of teachers. I've had mostly lovely ones and a few alright ones... And then ones who just don't know how to teach.
Let's start off with the juicy ones shall we?
THE BAD
This is the teacher who really should have retired already, they don't have any idea how to structure their lessons and you're always left feeling flat. This teacher is great to have in the three weeks before your exams... Sarcasm sarcasm.
I have this teacher right now, and she may mean well sometimes, but she's suddenly decided to have it out for me. Singling me out and treating me unfairly infront of everyone else, who don't even notice! No one else in my class sees the struggle! So if I type a blog post about my failed history year.. It's literally because of this teacher!
THE UGLY
I feel like it's kinda mean to call people ugly, so I will say these are the alright ones. Not bad, not good, just middle. I think these are the most popular type of teacher, and they're the ones whose names you don't remember looking back, but you NEVER forget the name of that bad teacher.
THE GOOD
When I was a new entrant, I had the loveliest teacher called Ms Boyd. Ms Boyd is perfect for teaching the young ones, she never raised her voice once. We played music and everyone loved her. My first year of school was with Ms Lawn. Ms Lawn I just think was a sweetheart. She used to talk about her beautiful garden and I could picture the blooming dandelions and array of colourful flowers in my mind. Ms Lawn was the teacher who first showed me I could write, and I will never forget that. I wrote a poem about Jack Frost (In year two with her, luckily having her for two years!) and fairies because it was winter, and she put it up in a poster, and even remembered the poem years later, still keeping it. I used to write all kinds of weird little poems and stories as a kid, and she made me feel like writing was my talent. (Side note, I had Ms Lawn from the ages of five to six, for two years and I just adore her okay)
I think the best teachers are the ones who truly love teaching, and inspire students. Mr Keating from Dead Poets Society anyone? The good teachers make a difference in the classroom, which leads to the world. Which is why having bad teachers is so detrimental to the success of students in school and out of it. We need to be inspiring young minds to learn.
Love,
Georgia Maree xx
