Now we're fully into Autumn, I feel like I need to say goodbye to Summer for now.
Summer you were full of laughs, of sand.
Summer you were like the sting of sunburnt skin.
Summer you were pohutakawa trees blossoming.
Summer you were watermelon and strawberries.
Summer you were family and new friends.
Summer you were bright clothes bright smiles bright faces.
Summer you were crisp grass under toes.
Summer you were jumping into cool bubbling water.
Summer you were hiding from the heat for a while.
Summer you were barbecues and camping.
Summer you were light brilliant sunsets.
Summer you were ice cream dribbling down chins.
Summer you are gone for now, but you will come back again, next year.
