London - Europe 2015

Hey,

London! This post is part of my Europe 2015 series, so check out Istanbul, Italy, Croatia first! We left off in the beautiful sun of Croatia, prepare for the cold!

We arrived into London on the 17th of September, and for the first day I mostly slept. It had been eleven days of constant travel, constant movement, constant people and I was lapping up alone time.

On the 18th I explored the British Museum with my family, and I was very glad I got up!

Attempting to be artsy!

This guy and the guy behind the statue may have chuckled at me for taking this, but how cool is he!
After our British Museum explore, we mostly relaxed that day, and ate dinner at a pub to watch the rugby. The next day, my brother arrived!
Thomas was only coming over for three weeks and missed the first part of our trip, due to school and girlfriend requirements. *wink*

That morning Mum and I had a nice walk around Hyde Park, with our apartment being a minute or so away, it was great!
London put on a beauty of a day and the sun was certainly surprising!

Peter Pan statue!

Mum was transfixed by this little guy! We don't have squirrels in New Zealand and this was our first time seeing one!!

After fetching Thomas from Heathrow we went out again to see Big Ben and the London Eye lit up at night.

While it looks cool and it was pretty to look at, it was hard to focus on with the sensory overload I was experiencing that night.
Westminster Bridge is HORRIBLE to walk over, with beeping traffic and bustling tourists and just rubbish all on the ground. We ate at a McDonalds which was pretty gross really, but I guess you can say naive kiwi's! My anxiety did not like that night.

In the morning we set off to go on the London Eye, and luckily I much preferred this area in the daylight.

PS. This is in Trafalgar Square and London (the whole UK really) has a whole heap of flowers everywhere!
The day after, we explored the Tower of London!

On the 23rd of September my Pop had his 70th Birthday, and I had arranged for us to go to Paris for it. I however didn't even end up going! Tired me was unable to wake at 5 am for the tube, and I didn't have the heart for it. Pop had a great birthday ! He enjoyed his day in Paris, which I'm thankful for.

Photo by my brother, who took my camera for the day
And then... Mum, Thomas and I met some famous people.

If you haven't clicked yet... We went to Madame Tussauds London!
It was fun wandering around the place, and Thomas and I enjoyed it! Until, I got separated from them, and inside the museum there's a Joy of London ride or something. This ride, is. terrifying. I was alone too! I'm aware majority of people wouldn't be scared but the sensitive thing I am...

I cheered up after the 4D Avengers movie, and was able to pretend I wasn't utterly still shaken from that ride. That night I went to the first musical I've ever been to alone. I went to Les Miserablés at Queen's Theatre! It was just so perfect and Carrie Hope Fletcher performed like the angel she is!

On the tube home, a woman with blonde curly hair stepped on, and I literally stared at her like this:

IT WAS CARRIE. I didn't even say hello because I thought she might be tired and in a hurry, I was just stuck staring at her! Once she got off, a girl behind me started talking to her mum and turning to her I realised she was feeling the same way I was! Ah! Carrie! She's so beautiful in person too, guys. She's wonderful!!

After my pain of not saying hello or even smiling! I DIDN'T EVEN SMILE GUYS
We were off to Hogwarts! I'm doing a full post on this, so do keep posted! (Pun) Here's some sneak peeks:

We then finally finished our last day in London with Buckingham Palace.

 I love tourists :')

Thank you for reading! Have a fabulous day,

Love,
Georgia Maree xx
