Hey,
Most people assume that you're either a dog person or a cat person, and that means you must hate the other, but to be honest no one really hates anything! I just prefer cats, and I think I just don't ever see myself owning a dog.
We grew up with the most beautiful cat, Eek. She lived to be twenty human years, and we
all just loved her. She dealt with my brother and I as annoying babies, troublesome toddlers and then loud, door slamming teenagers. Eek was never malicious, and you could just tell how much she loved us all. My mum found it the hardest when Eek died, she kind of had a week of mourning.
I think it's amazing how much of a bond humans and animals can have, it's really special.
When Eek was 19 or 20 (human years again) we adopted a kitten. His name is Louis. Louis was goofy, and hyper and ran into walls, a flying ball of tiny fluff. He and Eek acknowledged each other but never really bonded, Louis was too annoying for Eek! Once Eek passed away Louis asserted himself as the alpha of everyone and everything ( he still is). When Louis was one human year, he got very bitey, I found myself bleeding all over the place! We think because Louis is a long haired cat, he doesn't like to be over stimulated (eg over patted, touched heaps) so he lashes out. But now that he's two, he's becoming so much more loving and sweet! He's still a baby, and he has the tiniest meow!

3 months ago we adopted our new little baby Mollie. Mollie is 9 months old, and I'm basically her mother. I was terrified that Louis would go crazy and really really attack Mollie, but he surprised me! After around a month, Mollie wasn't shy around anyone else anymore, (at first she only came out from under the couch to see me) they just sniffed each other. Now, they love playing with each other, they even sleep with their beds next to each other, and swap beds every now and then. Mollie has calmed Louis so much, and she has riled up my parents a little bit! Mollie is still having trouble with training where she should do her business, but I love her! Cats aren't supposed to be loyal - Mollie's always with me. She follows me everywhere!

At the end of the day, we make special bonds with our pets, and those last a lifetime. I will treasure growing up with Eek! I hope you have a special animal in your life, you love because I'm pretty lucky.
Love,
Georgia Maree xx
