I can openly tell you that when it comes to school, almost everyone apart from my friends will say that I'm a goodie two shoes or a goody good. And well, it's always said in a tone that implies it's a bad thing. I'm here to tell you why you should never feel like being quiet and (actually) doing what the teacher tells you is nothing you should be ashamed of.
For one, the goodie two shoes in class is almost always the ones who get the good grades. You know why? Simply because they're listening and doing what school is made for, LEARNING. School is not for gossiping or for catching up on the latest dramas. You're there to get an education for your future, and one day to get a job.
Say you get a job, do you think it's okay to never do any work there? Will your employer tolerate that as much as your teacher has?
Let's talk about the name Goodie two shoes. So the synonyms for good are; capable, Gifted, talented, virtuous, gracious, respectful. Are these things that we would want others to describe us as? Personally, I'd be very happy to be called all of those! Why are we told that being obedient isn't the right thing to do at school? Why is being respectful so wrong?
Imagine how much we could all learn about ourselves and how many opportunities we could get if being a goodie good was well, GOOD!
The next time, some kid turns to you and says 'You're such a goodie two shoes!' Say thank you. Because they're giving you the best compliment.
